What the result means
WPM is the number of sample words divided by elapsed minutes. This test measures one passage, one device, and one reading purpose—not permanent ability or comprehension.
Use a short manual test to estimate your words per minute. Nothing listens to you, and the passage stays in the page.
The passage appears after Start. Read it once at a comfortable pace, then press Finish immediately after the last word.

Read naturally, avoid racing the timer, and repeat the test if you were interrupted. Dense technical reading and note-taking should use a slower custom pace.
After saving a valid result, open the reading time calculator and choose Use my calibrated pace. Review the full assumptions in the methodology.
